To bolster its current insurance service offering to clients, the Automobile Association (AA) has merged its AA Broking Services with Insurance Supermarket Insurance Brokers which, from 1 September, became AA Insurance Supermarket. Through this transaction, the AA is extending its partnership with Halls Financial Services (HFS).
AA Insurance Supermarket is an insurance brokerage specialising in car, home and related value-added products’ insurance and gives customers access to ten leading insurers, including the AA-branded Oakhurst comprehensive insurance product. Through these ten insurers, customers will be able to select a competitive car and home insurance product that suits their needs based on price, benefits, and personal preference.
AA Insurance Supermarket makes these options available to customers in real-time using technology that links its systems to those of their insurance partners. Another major benefit is that the AA Insurance Supermarket service is an advisory-based service which means customers interact with a broker who advises and consults with them on the best available options.
“Moving AA Insurance into this new vehicle makes sense for customers as it gives the business more focus, and the client more choice. It was also a natural fit as HFS subscribe to the same high levels of integrity the AA does. We are extremely excited about this development and believe it will ultimately make a huge difference to customers,” says Sikkie Kajee, chairperson of the AA.
HFS says the transaction will make AA Insurance Supermarket a significant player in the insurance market in South Africa, and that this strength will be translated into a better customer experience.
“Combining Insurance Supermarket and the AA’s insurance businesses means our existing and new clients will benefit from our years of experience and quality customer service. The AA is known for providing exceptional service and trust so it’s fantastic to have them on board,” says Nic Hughes, Group CEO of Halls Financial Services.
Shaun Neuhoff takes the reigns as Managing Director of AA Insurance Supermarket with the expanded team focused on delivering a more compelling product and service to SA consumers.
