- Leave enough room to manoeuvre – don’t tailgate or move between cars
- At all times be courteous, careful and aware
Cyclists
- Wear reflective items or clothing
- Ride in a straight line and don’t swerve from side to side
- Use hand signals to indicate if you are turning
- Watch out for pedestrians
- Obey the rules of the road at all times
Motorists
- Be aware of your surroundings and avoid distractions
- Keep to the speed limit and adhere to the rules of the road
- Don’t drive when you’re tired or under the influence of alcohol
- Check your blind spots regularly and signal your intention to turn or change lanes
- Always be on the lookout for pedestrians, cyclists and animals
